hobby-ish gamedev. This website contains my raw notes and documents my progress.
I found the diablo ggd by random on my hard drive… I do not remember the contents of it. Seems like I downloaded it and never read through it. How dumb, it is interesting.
I didnt knew that diablo was planned as a turn based game? It is defined in the GDD. The GDD even explains where the menu buttons are and what the left and right mouse buttons are used for. It is kinda overly specific. Not sure why you would do that.
Also look at that image. Of course it is easy to explain how the diablo world is built, but seeing that as an additional “sketch” of some sort, I get the feeling that I miss something?

Also, thats hardcore? I guess they added easier difficulties to adapt to players?

I skipped almost the marketing part… kinda eww

In this day and age this could be compared with dlcs visible in the steam store, additional skins and items with different versions, steam cards (even though I dont collect that shit and dont get the appeal). For me, an additional OST and supporter DLC would be enough. But I would add some goodie to the supporter DLC. Add them to the credits or something which gives something back (more than the game that is).
Also, check how the scope of the game is defined. They even approximated the amount of Monsters and the different kinds of frames and animations they expected. Also the programming department started with the UI? I dont understand why, I expected the gameloop to be done first. Maybe they did a prototype first?

I love their timeline for the development!

This part I did in my notebook by hand, as I remember things better when I write them down, maybe because it is slower.
