Reflection

Two things which are on my mind.

First thing, I am not doing as much as I want to. I did gamedev for every day for almost a month. For me that is a BIG step in the right direction and I am very proud. Never in my life I did something that consistent over such a long period of time without external pressure. I am very happy with myself. Now its time to use this and push further, extend my abilities and skill. I have high standards when it is about doing or creating stuff for others, so I will need a lot more work for a finished product.

Second thing, I get distracted a lot with different things. First I started with the gamejam, then I did prototyping, and during prototyping I got distracted by the dungeon array and the lighting and the blender topic. All things I can use in the future. But I think, to learn as good as possible I need to push through a single project and extend on that. The basics are there, yes they can be extended โ€ฆ but I just need the practice. Hence why I need to push through my own project.

So what is the current plan? Finishing the udemy multiplayer tutorial, as this WILL be implemented in my recettear inspired game. And then continue with the recettear project.

Roadmap:

  1. Finish multiplayer tutorial.
  2. Finish dungeon generation topic (array issues).
  3. Implement the Astra dungeon generator algorithmus.
  4. Adapt the Dungeon generator to the different meshes I use.
  5. Implement basic multiplayer in the recettear inspired game.
  6. Test with Friends.

I am very hyped. I need to push!

Bullets

Part of the multiplayer tutorial.

Needs the direction and the speed. Constant speed.
